What does continuing professional training mean today? Even before the corona pandemic, the BVG wanted to say goodbye to selective, organization-intensive and inefficient face-to-face training. Instead, more flexible learning with small selectable learning units and N-to-n communication between participants should be promoted.
The Transport Experts took on the challenge of creating a training and communication platform that both builds on an emphatic digital experience and can be used for well-founded and individual continuing professional training. In particular, the platform in question is intended to enable a higher degree of flexibility and transparent communication. In addition, there is a coherent presentation of the latest support requests with the associated answers and the documentation of the individual learning progress. It should also provide easy access to resources, encourage employee engagement as well as mutual exchange and promote joint learning.
“Assecor provided us with competent and solution-oriented support in various project team constellations. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the Berlin-based company.”
BVG's own communication and training platform from a third-party provider was supplemented with solutions in Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Teams. With the support of Assecor, the training materials were also adapted more closely to BVG's needs and expanded to include offers such as webinars, webinar recordings and kick-off events via the Microsoft Teams, Skype 4 Business and SharePoint Online Services.
At the same time, project participants and other stakeholders remain informed about current developments and special features via various channels in Microsoft Teams in order to create a balanced basis for communication. With the help of test cases and pilot participants, prototypical implementation scenarios were identified in close consultation with the customer and a specific strategy for requirements management was developed.
The project was very well received by the pilot participants and thus served as a basis for the roll-out for a total of 6,000 employees at BVG offices.
In the future, BVG drivers should also be able to benefit from the results of the project. Assecor assisted with the corresponding piloting of the digital workplace with Windows 10 and Office 365 in several sub-projects.
In the new features and communication and training concept of the digital workplace, BVG is not only undergoing a significant update, but is also opening up new opportunities for its employees to learn and communicate in a new software environment. This massively promotes the future viability of jobs, particularly with regard to an increased degree of flexibility. The change towards successful knowledge transfer, location-independent work and effective communication with short distances has been successfully initiated. Ultimately, it was about a holistic digital experience tailored precisely to the needs of individual employees.
