Reconciling work and family, establishing more flexible ways of working and simplifying routine tasks are among the guiding values of BVG's digital strategy. With the support of Assecor, the company has taken an important step in the digitalization of internal processes: the pilot phase for the digital workplace with Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365 was successfully completed.
As part of its digital strategy, BVG wants to exploit the potential of digitalization and position itself as an attractive employer both externally and internally. This includes providing its employees with a future-proof digital workplace. This should enable employees to work and communicate better as a team, flexibly and regardless of location. Space constraints, batch processing and routine tasks are to be minimized with the help of new technologies and employees are to be relieved.
With the support of Assecor, the company first adapted the infrastructure to the requirements of a digital workplace and, in a second step, successfully carried out a pilot phase with Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365. BVG has taken an important step and initiated change processes that will accompany the work of tomorrow.
Stations of the digital Workplace of the BVG
For 6,000 BVG employees, the technical and infrastructural prerequisites for a modern digital workplace were to be created as part of BVG's digitization. In the future, every BVG employee should be able to use any modern Windows 10 device with his or her BVG user ID and an automated provisioning process. All transmission paths required for network communication are pre-configured and allow users to securely access BVG's networks.
Assecor supported BVG in adapting the IT infrastructure to the requirements and needs of a digital workplace as well as analyzing, evaluating and, if necessary, digitizing suitable administrative processes. The Microsoft product range was used, including Windows 10, Office 365 services and identity management products. We brought our wealth of experience from an 8-year collaboration with BVG to the project. In parallel to the collection and evaluation of user requirements and the infrastructural adjustments, we supported BVG in the creation of an accompanying communication and training concept.

BVG's requirements were elicited in 18 test cases, which were directly incorporated into the planning of the IT infrastructure and process management of the overall rollout for 6,000 employees.

In order to better retain personnel as well as remain attractive to applicants, Assecor supported BVG in providing a modern work experience.
The practical suitability of the digital workplace was tested by users or pilot participants from various departments. With the help of test cases, we evaluated the communication and training concept as well as user acceptance of the new cloud services. This enabled the project team to implement the user-related requirements in accordance with the IT guidelines based on the evaluated test cases.
